Overview
For about 400,000 people in the world, Low German (Plautdietsch) is the language of the heart. For many of these, it is their only language. Located mostly in the Latin American countries of Mexico, Bolivia and Paraguay, Low German-speakers often feel isolated and forgotten. Square One World Media provides radio, video, and print material that connects with the heart to introduce some to Jesus Christ and encourage others in their long-held faith.

Overview
Square One involvement level:
Production date: 1994
The original English version of the JESUS Film, directed by Peter Sykes and John Krish, was released in 1979. Primarily based on the Gospel of Luke, the film depicts the life of Jesus.
In 1981, the Jesus Film Project was launched to accurately translate the film into other languages. In 1994, the audio for the Plautdietsch version of the film was recorded in the Winnipeg-based studios of Square One (then known as Mennonite Brethren Communications). Gerhard Friesen, the head of production for Low German media at the time, was heavily involved in casting voice actors and editing the script for the Plautdietsch translation.
