Overview
For about 400,000 people in the world, Low German (Plautdietsch) is the language of the heart. For many of these, it is their only language. Located mostly in the Latin American countries of Mexico, Bolivia and Paraguay, Low German-speakers often feel isolated and forgotten. Square One World Media provides radio, video, and print material that connects with the heart to introduce some to Jesus Christ and encourage others in their long-held faith.

Production date: 2004 - 2013
In 2004, Trans World Radio, Bolivia, contacted Square One (then known as Family Life Network) about the desperate need for Low German children’s programming. Helen Funk, wife of German producer Jacob Funk, heard about the need and said, “My heart goes out to those kids. I’m overwhelmed, but I’m excited, too.” She became “Taunte Helen” on the new family program, Komm Kjikje! Using Bible stories, songs and fun sound effects, each 15-minute episode teaches children that Jesus is their friend, and that Jesus loves them.
