Overview
For about 400,000 people in the world, Low German (Plautdietsch) is the language of the heart. For many of these, it is their only language. Located mostly in the Latin American countries of Mexico, Bolivia and Paraguay, Low German-speakers often feel isolated and forgotten. Square One World Media provides radio, video, and print material that connects with the heart to introduce some to Jesus Christ and encourage others in their long-held faith.

Production date: 2010
As friends of Jacob and Helen Funk, Erika and John Klassen of Abbotsford, BC heard about the need for written material for Low German-speaking families. Erika and John wrote a series of four devotional booklets for family use. Called Korte Famielje Aundachten, each booklet opens with a history and introduction of the Mennonite faith, followed by about 90 short daily devotions. The booklets were endorsed by Jacob and Helen, and proofread by Ed Zacharias. A special feature of the booklets is a sprinkling of recipes from Helen Funk’s book, Met Helen in de Kjäakj.
